Married April 2, 2020 · Concord, California

To our family and friends,

SO SOMETHING NOT SO CHILL HAPPENED

We planned on exchanging our vows while celebrating our nine year anniversary at San Francisco City Hall on April 2, 2020. We had all the details planned months before and eagerly waited for our special day. We even had our wedding announcements printed and sealed!

Well COVID19 hit and boy was our world shaken. We waited it out hoping and praying it would die down. Never would we have expected, 17 days away, our event would have to cancel due to the shelter in place order. We knew in our hearts that we still wanted to make this happen. To us, wedding on our nine year anniversary symbolized our adventure together. It has taken us nearly a decade to get to where we are but our journey has become our favorite story.

When they announced the shutdown, we rushed to the County Clerks office, obtained our marriage license, and together, figured out a Plan B. Days leading up to our day, the ever changing world led to Plan C and eventually Plan D. At the very end, a minister blessed our union and we officially became Mr. and Mrs. at the backyard of our home without our guests. This was a difficult decision but important to keep everyone safe.

Although our wedding day didn’t go the way we had planned, we held on to hope and love to carry us through this profound time in history. Our wedding plans may have been cancelled but we didn’t allow love to cancel.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all your love and support. We look forward to the next time our paths cross and we can greet you as Mr. and Mrs. Until then, we appreciate your well wishes and prayers from afar. We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy, but most of all, continuing to celebrate life and enjoying all its beautiful moments.

Love,

Christopher + Deziree Patiag
